Park Inn Hotel Alexanderplatz: Brian tests Berlin's highest hotel

Published July 9, 2018

I have tested one of the most striking hotels in the German capital for you. For me this task was particularly exciting, as I had only known the imposing building from the outside until then.

The well-known hotel is located in a skyscraper directly on famous Alexanderplatz. Due to its central location directly opposite the notorious TV tower, the popular hotel has almost become itself a landmark of the German capital. Simple but cozy rooms offer Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and solid furnishings. From the upper floors you have a great view all over Berlin.

Comfortable living in the heart of Berlin

To my great joy, a room was allocated to me and my friend on the 29th floor of the house. It was a so-called panorama room. The spacious double room is stylishly and comfortably furnished and offers other amenities like a coffee machine and Wi-Fi. As a special attention of the hotel we were greeted with a delicious fruit plate. The absolute highlight of the room is its breathtaking 180ᵒ view over the beautiful Berlin. From our window we had a perfect picture book view of the TV tower-of which we took dozens of pictures.

Stay fit and healthy on vacation

Since I am a sporty type, it is always important to me to be able to do something for my fitness during my travels as well. The Park Inn Alexanderplatz has its own fitness area, equipped with cardio machines, strength machines and even free weights. The fitness area is overall very clean and tidy.

Of course, nutrition also plays an important role in making you feel healthy and comfortable (also on vacation). Luckily breakfast was included for us. The rich buffet really fulfills every wish and offers everything your heart desires in the morning. Fresh bread, cheese, sausages - here it lacks nothing. Personal highlight for me: the honey is offered fresh in real honeycombs!

Viewing terrace Berlin and tasty cocktails

In the evening we enjoyed a delicious alcohol-free cocktail at the hotel bar and afterwards a small beer on the spectacular roof terrace on the 40th floor of the hotel. From here you also have an unbelievably beautiful view of the hustle and bustle of the city, the TV tower and the skyline of Berlin from a height of 150 m. Especially in the evening when the sun goes down slowly it becomes romantic here.

My tip: the alternative to the TV tower: In summer you can enjoy the view from 12 - 22 o'clock for only 4€, even as a visitor.

LGBT proofed!

The Park Inn Alexanderplatz describes itself as LGBT-friendly and I can only confirm this statement. On request you get at the reception valuable tips about the queer scene of the city and the Berlin Pride Guide is available there too. Due to the hotel´s central location and the excellent public transport connections you can reach all the city´s gay bars and clubs easily and quickly.
