25hours Hotel at Bikini Berlin: Philipp tests the stylish hotel with a view of the Berlin Zoo

Published December 20, 2019

The stylish, urban 25hours hotel is found in the heart of the center of west Berlin, between the famous Kurfürsten Damm street and the zoo (Zoologischer Garten). Pinksider Philipp recommends this hotel with the phenomenal view.

The perfect hotel for city slickers

If you’re looking for a truly fantastic and stylish hotel in the center of west Berlin, I can sincerely recommend the 25hours hotel at Bikini Berlin.

The 25hours hotel impresses immediately at the entrance, with its big city jungle look. A very old, fully stuffed car – prepared for the next safari – adorns the entrance. Take a look up and you’ll see bicycles hanging from the ceiling. Wooden signs lead you to the famous Monkey Bar on the top floor and the Israeli restaurant Neni.

I received a super friendly welcome at the reception, which is also where you’ll find the hammock lounge, a kiosk and the in-house bakery. Equipped with all the important information, I head towards my “Jungle Medium” room. In the elevator, music from The Jungle Book is playing. I quietly sing along and my excitement for the hotel room is on the rise and I’m in such a good mood.

Hammock and great view of the zoo

I’m amazed when I enter the room. A large window with a hammock in front of it provides a stunning view of the zoo, and it’s all mine! I hop right into the hammock and enjoy the view.

The room itself is modern with an open floor plan. A bathrobe, towels, hairdryer, soap, and a well-stocked mini bar are available. The bed is an absolute dream. Very comfortable, large – I have nothing to complain about!

Before I stop for a drink in the famous Monkey Bar, I decide to take a relaxing shower. The rainforest shower was just too tempting. What a lovely feeling it is to be showered and ready to go. Let’s go to the Monkey Bar!

Monkey Bar: Great cocktails with a view of Berlin

The Monkey Bar, on the 10th floor of the 25hours hotel, is hip. The furniture is chic yet casual – exactly my taste! The drink menu is creative. I go for the Angry Alpaca – a cocktail with pisco, passion fruit, limejuice and a bit of chili. Very tasty and recommendable! Afterwards I treat myself to a non-alcoholic Jungle Lemonade with strawberries, limejuice, vanilla, soda and basil. It’s also a taste bud pleaser! I feel very comfortable in the Monkey Bar. DJs play relaxing music every day of the week, not to mention the phenomenal view. You can even see the monkey enclosure!

Breakfast with a wonderful view

After a great night with perfect sleep thanks to the various pillows in different sizes, I head out for breakfast at Neni. While the evening cuisine is influenced by Persian, Russian, Arabic, Moroccan, Israeli, Turkish, Spanish, German and Austrian flavors, the morning consists of a hearty breakfast buffet with oriental influences – you won’t leave hungry.

Upon request you can order shakshuka, omelets, and other egg dishes freshly prepared. There is a large selection of spreads, cheese, cold cuts, and even honey with the honeycomb. Shakshuka is my personal favorite – a tomato and egg dish. It gives me the right amount of energy for the day. The dining experience is accompanied by the fantastic view, as Neni is also in the 10th floor of the hotel.

My conclusion: I’m definitely coming back!

The hotel could hardly be more central and cool! If you’re looking for the perfect mix of jungle and urban style, then you must check out the 25hours hotel at Bikini Berlin. It’s stylish but not hipster, the service is great and the rooms are very cool. The breakfast is awesome and the Monkey Bar is truly a highlight on its own; it’s no coincidence it was voted “Best Bar in Europe.” This hotel with the perfect location is a great place to relax in the big city jungle. You’ll find your happy place here!
