The Fabulous Singlettes: Tobi visits Tipi am Kanzleramt

In the district of Tiergarten in a prime location between the chancellery and Berlin's beautiful green lung you can find a very special event location. Tipi am Kanzleramt is known for grandiose musicals, fantastic cabaret shows and amazing concerts. Last week I attended the show "The Fabulous Singlettes".
The Tipi: Camping, just better!
Already at the first moment this venue impresses me very much as the extraordinary tent shape can be seen from afar. Inside, the lobby conveys a high feel-good factor and an almost living room atmosphere. The comfortably decorated theater offers space for over 500 guests; you can sit comfortably at tables and have a good view of the stage from every chair. From the tent roof dangles a huge chandelier. I enjoy a glass of white wine, which is brought directly to my spot and can hardly wait for the show to start.
The show: Classics of the 60s and 70s
Right at the beginning of the show, the girl group called Fabulous Singlettes starts with a fast-paced show and heats up the audience. The three ladies from Australia have stunning voices and know exactly how to sweep their audience. The greatest hits of the 60s and 70s are humorously interpreted and sung here - the singers manage to take the visitors on a journey through time into a world of petticoats, updos and lots of glamor.
Between the fantastic songs, the trio jokes with the guests again and again, sometimes jumps on the lap of the visitors or generously distributes marshmallows in the room. The artists do not only convince by their strong vocal performance, they also ensure by skillful dance interludes for an excellent atmosphere and bring the hall to the quake.
At the finale of the show, the girls sing a couple of queer music classics, which of course makes me especially happy. The three perform Madonna's "Like a virgin" as well as the LGBT Favorite "I will survive" for the best.
My conclusion on the theatre
Tipi am Kanzleramt is a wonderful theater venue with loads of charm. The divers program offers something for every taste and impresses with its great selection of talented artists.
