Mardi Gras Parade: Sydney´s Queer Highlight
Street parade of superlatives
At the end of February, the world famous Mardi Gras Festival in Sydney will host a Gay and Lesbian mega event. For three weeks, this happening lures members of the LGBT community and supporters to the Australian metropolis and delights visitors with over 80 different events. Highlight of the spectacle, of course, is the huge parade, where hundreds of thousands of people take part each year. More than 130 colorfully decorated trucks and countless costumed foot troops then make their way through the city and transform Sydney into one big party.
